Oktoberfest 2012 in Lake Arrowhead Village

For Southern California residents, the perfect locale for celebrating Oktoberfest is the pine-covered mountains surrounding Lake Arrowhead Village. Often referred to as the jewel of Southern California, Lake Arrowhead is the closest thing in the Inland Empire to Europe in beauty and old world charm. This has made it the perfect place to celebrate the time-honored tradition of Oktoberfest!

In 1810, when Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria got married, he wanted to celebrate his nuptials with festivities and lots of beer. So his people arranged a 16-day party complete with food, drink, horse races, dancing and song. Ever after, millions have flocked to Germany from all parts of the globe to participate in what became an annual festival. Today, Oktoberfest is enjoyed in cities and towns worldwide — none as much fun as the event held weekends on Center Stage in Lake Arrowhead Village.

A decades’ long tradition, the Lake Arrowhead Oktoberfest began in late September and will continue on Saturdays and Sundays from noon until 5 p.m. through October 27th. Don’t miss out:

  • Free games for young and old
  • Polka contests
  • The Chicken Dance
  • Entertainment
  • Beer

Since the temperatures are a bit on the cold side, you might want to duck in from the cold and dine at Belgian Waffle Works while you’re on the mountain. Located in Lake Arrowhead, dockside, we offer a magnificent lake view as well as a variety of hot food and drinks to help you celebrate Oktoberfest in grand style.

We are open 7 days a week. Our winter hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. So you won’t have to wait until the weekend to enjoy great beer. We carry domestic beers in addition to an impressive selection of craft beers, such as Beck Dark Beer and a full lineup from Hangar 24 Brewery. We also feature a Hanger 24 special release called Oktoberfest as well as Gourdgeous Beer. Our regular menu includes a Northern Germany-inspired Alt-Bier, IPA and a delicious Orange Wheat. We are proud to offer Ritzman Riesling & Gewurztraminer wines from Germany. And one of our best selling lunch or early dinner items is a “Beer Brat,” which is served on a pretzel bun with grilled sauerkraut.
