Serving Waffles Dockside at Lake Arrowhead Village since 1982

Come for the waffles, stay for the view, return for the service.

The Belgian Waffle Works first opened its doors in 1982 and has since become one of the icons of the Lake Arrowhead Village. Thousands of visitors from all across California and around the world visit the famous eatery each year, where they enjoy wonderful meals, great views and attentive service.

Lake Arrowhead is located in the mountains of Southern California which is just 90 miles east of Los Angeles in the San Bernardino Mountains. Lake Arrowhead is a manmade reservoir that was originally intended to serve as part of a major waterworks project to provide irrigation water to the San Bernardino Valley. Construction of the Lake Arrowhead Dam began in 1904 but was halted due to litigation.

The Lake Arrowhead Lake Company finally completed construction of the project in 1922, as part of a plan to fashion the area into a premiere resort. Now a mountain paradise featuring outdoor recreation and breathtaking views, the area has become the vacation destination of many.

In 1979, during a fire training exercise that went awry, all of the buildings in the Village, except the Pavilion, burned to the ground. So the Village was renovated and reopened in 1981. In 1982, the Belgian Waffle Works opened the first “dockside” business in the Village, boasting an inviting outdoor patio that overlooks beautiful Lake Arrowhead.

The Belgian Waffle Works is a full-service family restaurant featuring 17 original specialty Belgian-style waffles, homemade soups, fresh market salads, gourmet sandwiches, juicy burgers, homemade breads, Espresso, Cappuccino, premium desserts, wine, beer, specialty drinks and more.
